The inspiration for this project came from my interest in developing the technique of Macramé through the use of my visual research, Jelly Fish. The colours and textures I was able to incorporate within my work came from my original photographs of several jellyfish I had taken on a visit to Dubai. The combination of colours and forms was what firstly interested me in using them as my primary research. After further research into them it allowed me to create two collections that I could expand my interest through the use of colours and textures.

Macramé is a structural form that I have been experimenting with throughout my time at university and feel that I have finally achieved a high level of skill. The idea behind my samples is to create forms and structures that use the macramé technique in a very structural way. This structure is essential to my work as my end use will be high-end upholstery wall art.
