The concept behind Maison Margiela’s Autumn/Winter 17/18 collection is based on the idea of erosion; the way that erosion creates texture and pattern. The collection’s initial inspiration began with cracked paint for surface decoration and developed to take inspiration from painter’s overalls. The main features inspired by painter’s overalls were strap and rope fastenings, hardwearing fabrics such as Tyvek and cotton canvas, oversized silhouettes and the idea of protection; appearing as wadded layers. The elements of erosion developed to appear as prints, cracked leather  textures and distressed edges.

My Photography and Styling project was created as a fashion campaign for Gucci Autumn/Winter 16/17 with a polished and luxurious mood. The concept was based around intruding on a  moment in the library, with styling inspiration taken from 1970’s style of dress whilst juxtaposing a contemporary feel through more adventurous prints.
