“It is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum, instead of two sets of opposing ideals”
My collection is inspired by these words, spoken by Emma Watson. She was questioning society’s miscon-ception of the word feminism. My designs have embodied this concept by deconstructing traditional notions of female soft and male – hard.
The garments are made in one size and can be worn by all. The pieces can be worn in various ways to cater to individual tastes, style and size. The collection highlights the beauty of the individual and sets to embrace their style and personality whilst underpinning a sense of harmony amongst gender.
Studying fashion design has made me conscious of the body and how personality can be portrayed through clothes. It has helped me establish an identity in my creativity and enhanced my understanding of the clothed form.
