Megan Howell

During my degree in Fashion Design, I have specialised in menswear, aiming to create innovative yet wearable designs. After my four years, I have developed essential skills to aid a future career in fashion design and have carried out four different placements in menswear, womenswear, print design and PR, each providing invaluable insight into different spectrums of the industry.

My fourth year project includes a range of designs for five different brands, each placed at differing ends of the retail market. The pictured project was inspired by the shell-shocked victims of WWI and developed for designer, Junya Watanabe. I paid particular attention to re-interpreting traditional military styles and transforming them into more contemporary pieces, which could be both worn today and in keeping with the brand.

My years at the University, alongside 11 months of placement have fuelled a desire to work within the fashion industry, creating modern and interesting designs.
