Isabel Fletcher

Throughout my four years at the University of Leeds I have enjoyed being able to develop my keen interest in womenswear that was further strengthened by undertaking a pattern cutting internship at Roksanda in my placement year. Fashion design is my artistic outlet, not my catalyst. My preferred starting point is an artwork or material that I connect with. I capture this excitement by progressing through stages of research, experimentation, drawing and developing ideas before finally using the medium of clothing to express this passion. These images are from my final collection which I made using different types of foam. Working with foam allowed me to create sculptural garments that retain delicacy through fabric manipulation and embroidery techniques. I am excited to start my career in the fashion industry working with people with the same creative and artistic values as me.
