The concepts behind my portfolio work are Cacti, Gothic Cathedrals and Islamic ceramics. I have explored these concepts through five different brands; Christopher Kane, Schiaparelli, Abercrombie and Fitch, Jigsaw and Ralph Lauren. Within my Christopher Kane collection, I have looked at creating sculptural pieces in organic shapes focusing on the ridges and spikes that appear on cacti. For the Schiaparelli collection, I have been inspired by the rich colours of Islamic ceramics and have translated this into a bold geometric collection. In contrast the Abercrombie and Fitch collection takes inspiration from the decorative stone work found within cathedrals using this to inform the shape of the garments as well as prints within the collection.
