Purity (the lotus)
The inspiration of the design came from the symbolism of Chinese traditional patterns, and the symbolism of this design is purity, because the lotus flower can represent purity in China. The bamboo motif is added in the design because of its positive symbolism which is integrity. The cloud motif in the design is inspired by Chinese ink painting. The design outcome is used for bedding.
Snow (the red-crowned crane)
The inspiration of the design came from Yuzen origami, a Japanese traditional art work, and the five elements which include snow, thunder, fire, rain and wind. This design represents snow, thus the motifs that related to snowy day are used in the design, such as red-crowned crane, pine branches and pine cones, and wintersweet. The design outcome is used for bedding.
