My final collections are inspired by textile pieces from different cultures, I have split the collection up to focus one half on Indian patterns and the other half on Oriental patterns. During the research stage of this project I went to archives such as the ULITA gallery and was able to take a closer look at pieces for a deeper understanding of their history and the techniques used in previous centuries. These pieces are from the Indian collection and demonstrate how similar motifs can be used in contrasting ways. Although my work is based on historical information I have aimed to create unique and contemporary designs.
