Specialising in structured textiles I produced knitwear collections inspired by the blocks of colour seen in landscapes combined with the cabling technique on the dubied machines. The intended use of these collections is to be sold as jumpers commercially, and as cabling is a classic knitwear technique, I wanted to learn and develop this. In order to modernise my collections I chose a colour palette inspired by David Hockney’s landscape paintings, which use bright colours that are unconventional in landscapes. My first collection is produced on the 10g fine gauge machine, contrasting the second collection produced on the 5g chunkier machine.
